DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

The Municipal Security Guard, on assignment as lead, is responsible for overseeing security guard positions assigned to the downtown complex or other municipal facilities, including, but not limited to, Phoenix City Hall, the Calvin C. Goode Building, Historic City Hall, the 305 Building, City Council Chambers, and the Phoenix Municipal Court. Incumbents are required to make work assignments, determine shift rotations, complete daily activity reports, train staff, and provide input on performance evaluations and disciplinary actions. They also handle the more difficult and critical security problems, ensure the appropriate supervisor is advised of all issues and problems, and provide information to guards regarding special events scheduled during their shifts. This assignment is distinguished from the base classification by its lead duties.
