DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

The Municipal Security Guard, on assignment as Lead-U7, is responsible for supervising security guard positions assigned to the various City departments. Incumbent are required to determine work schedules and assignments, complete periodic activity reports, train staff, complete performance appraisals, and administer disciplinary actions. They also handle the more difficult and critical security problems, ensure appropriate management staff are advised of all issues and problems, and provide information to guards regarding special events scheduled during their shifts. This assignment is distinguished from the base classification by its supervisory duties.
