Civil Division
Economic Development/Finance Section
The Economic Development/Finance Section is primarily responsible for legal work associated with the following departments and functions: Community and Economic Development, Downtown Development Office, Finance, Housing and the Employees Retirement System. Each of the five attorneys assigned to this section represents specific departments and act as "in-house" counsel to their respective clients.
While the work performed for each client may differ, each attorney generally provides representation in litigation (both judicial and administrative), acts as general counsel, participates in the negotiation of complex transactions and contracts and prepares and reviews documents such as ordinances, memoranda, contracts, deeds, development agreements and leases for each client that the attorney represents.
