City Prosecutor's Office Legal Assistant Unit The Legal Assistant Unit is comprised of thirteen Legal Assistants and two Legal Clerks. The Legal Assistants research prior offenses, analyze and investigate corpus and other evidentiary problems, locate witnesses, respond to all discovery, rebuttal, and deposition motions and process asset forfeitures. The Legal Clerks are responsible for notifying victims and witnesses of court status changes, verifying availability for trial, keeping the prosecutor informed of victim and witness availability, notifying victims and witnesses when they are required to be in court, and distributing the discovery motions.
Our mission is to fairly, efficiently, and justly prosecute those who violate the law. We seek justice for crime victim and endeavor to make Phoenix a safer community in which to live.
