Ceremony and Open House Set for March 10-11
The City of Phoenix Aviation Department will officially dedicate a new, user-friendly terminal at Phoenix Goodyear Airport, 1658 South Litchfield Road, on Friday, March 10 at 9 a.m. This $2 million capital improvement project, replaces the previous terminal building that was originally constructed in the 1940's and will better serve customers by providing an improved pilot briefing room complete with data communication capabilities, as well as a more modern reception area. Phoenix Mayor Skip Rimsza and Goodyear Mayor William Arnold will both be present at the ceremony.
On Saturday, March 11, the public is invited to a free Open House featuring several aircraft on display, airport education, and children's games. This fun day geared toward families will begin at 10 a.m. and finish at 3 p.m. Phoenix Police, Goodyear Fire and Goodyear Police are all expected to have apparatus on display and informational brochures available, as well.
Phoenix Goodyear Airport is classified as a reliever airport to Phoenix Sky Harbor and last year topped 136,000 take-offs and landings. To learn more about Phoenix Goodyear Airport, please visit our web site at www.phxskyharbor.com.
