Presented with 2002 CIO-100 Award

For the third consecutive year, the city of Phoenix
has been presented the CIO-100 award, which recognizes organizations around the
globe that excel in providing goods and services through the use of technology.
The city of Phoenix is one of only
100 organizations worldwide to receive the award.
"Our employees consistently strive for excellence in customer service.
To receive the CIO-100 award three years in a row is a tribute to the
innovation and hard work of the staff in the Information Technology Department,"
said City Manager Frank Fairbanks.
Each year the award focuses on a new area. This year the city demonstrated
excellence in integrated technologies and procedures to improve customer
services.
"We're proud to be recognized for our efforts in using technology to
improve service to the residents of Phoenix,"
said Danny Murphy, chief information officer (CIO) and director of the city's
Information Technology Department. "We're always looking for innovative
ways to create value and serve our customers."
The 2002 CIO-100 Award is presented by CIO magazine. A panel of
experts and CIO staff members examined companies that have established uniform,
integrated technologies and processes across their organizations.
