Phoenix Public Library Announces New Branch-Library Administrator

Veteran librarian Shera Farnham has been selected to direct branch-library operations for Phoenix Public Library.
In her new position as Library Services Administrator of Branch Libraries, she will oversee 12 branches and construction of three additional branches approved in a 2001 special bond election.
Farnham has been a librarian for 30 years, including 24 with the Phoenix library system. Past positions include Mesquite Branch Library manager, coordinator of adult services, coordinator of collection development, and grants and service development librarian. She also served on a committee that assisted with the planning and design of Burton Barr Central Library, 1221 N. Central Ave.
Farnham, who has a master's degree in library science from Vanderbilt University, was a reference librarian in Michigan and Missouri before joining Phoenix Public Library.
