July 1, 2004
Travelers Advised To Arrive Two Hours Prior to Flight, Call Parking Hotline
Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is seeing record numbers of travelers
this year, and expects a busy 4th of July holiday weekend. For stress-free
air travel, those flying out of Sky Harbor should give themselves plenty of
time to park, check-in, and pass through security. The airport is offering
the following travel tips:
- Before leaving home, check with your airline to make sure your flight
is on time.
- Arrive at Sky Harbor two hours before departure.
- Pack light and check with your airline on luggage weight restrictions.
- Call the Sky Harbor parking hotline for up-to-the-minute information on
parking availability. The hotline numbers are: 602-273-4545, 602-273-4546
and 602-273-4547.
- Do not try to bring prohibited items such as knives and scissors through
security. For a complete list visit
www.tsa.gov.
- Wear shoes that are easily removable for a quicker trip through security.
"Sky Slippers" are available for those who prefer not to walk through security
with bare feet.
- Pick up a free "Traveler Tote" as you enter the security line in order
to consolidate keys, cell phones and other smaller items.
Uncovered economy parking costs only $5 a day at Sky Harbor. Economy garage
parking is $7 a day. If the economy lots fill to capacity, drivers will be
directed to overflow economy parking. For added convenience, there is always
plenty of space available in Sky Harbor's terminal garages at $1 per half
hour or $16 a day.
