The Neighborhood Services Department was recently recognized by the MarCom
Creative Awards, an international awards competition that recognizes outstanding
achievement by marketing and communication practitioners. The city of Phoenix
was awarded a Platinum Award for its creative efforts to market the Graffiti
Busters Program and received an honorable mention for its use of the web to
educate residents about blight removal in neighborhoods.
Earlier this year, the city of Phoenix partnered with Domino's Pizza to inform
residents of and generate funding for the city's neighborhood revitalization
and preservation efforts. The unique partnership included a public awareness
component, community involvement and public/private partnership.
The prestigious MarCom Platinum Award is presented to entries judged to be
winners in their respective categories for excellence in terms of quality,
creativity and resourcefulness. The "Big Cheese Deliveries" promotion was
presented with a Platinum Award in the External Communication Program to Market
Products/Services category.
The department was also presented with an honorable mention for the "Help
Put the DiamondBack Into Your Neighborhood - Keep It Clean!" web site in the
