City of Phoenix Community and Economic Development Director Roberto Franco today announced the hiring of Philip Bradstock as the city’s Film Office program manager.
The Phoenix Film Office assists companies with scouting locations, coordinates filming at city-owned locations and provides information regarding technical crews, talent, hotel accommodations and film permitting. The office works as a liaison between production companies, government agencies and the local community and also is responsible for attracting film projects to Phoenix.
Bradstock returns to Phoenix from Hollywood, Calif., where he worked in several areas of the production industry. His experience spans more than six years as a production assistant and production coordinator for Warner Bros. Studios. His credits include “Suddenly Susan,” “Nikki,” “Hot Properties,” “Center of the Universe,” “Presidio Med” and MTV’s “Room Raiders.”
“Phil’s background in the Hollywood film industry is an asset to the city,” said Franco. “We’re confident that his Hollywood connections will increase Phoenix’s exposure in the industry, which will enable our city to continue to attract large productions and help create jobs for the local film community.”
Bradstock’s experience includes overseeing budgets up to $1.2 million, negotiating vendor contracts, managing production crews and obtaining city permits for filming. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in political science from Boston College, is an alumnus of Brophy College Preparatory High School in Phoenix, Ariz. and has traveled extensively throughout the world.
