A pumpkin patch, locally grown produce, jewelry, crafts and fry bread are just a few of the features visitors can enjoy at the 3rd annual Native American Farmers Market Oct. 21 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Pueblo Grande Museum in Phoenix.
The free event will feature Native American farmers and craftspeople from three Phoenix-area tribal communities, the Salt River Pima Maricopa, Tohono O'Odham and Gila River. In addition to produce, featured artists will have gourd crafts, saguaro cactus jewelry, pottery, herbal products, and much more. Kids can pick out a winning pumpkin from the pumpkin patch, create a fall-themed craft or take a turn in a watermelon-seed spitting contest.
The museum is located at 4619 E. Washington (just west of State Route 143). Admission to the museum is free the day of the market. More information is available on the museum Web site at pueblogrande.com or by calling 602-495-0901.
