Councilman Mattox Donates Nearly $50,000 to Local Charities

District 5 Councilman Claude Mattox presented two checks totaling nearly $50,000 to benefit the Phoenix Children’s Hospital and the United Phoenix Fire Fighters Association. The checks were presented during the National Drowning Prevention Symposium held today and tomorrow at the Sheraton Crescent Hotel. The donations were proceeds from Mattox’s Margarita Bash Charity “Fun-raiser” sponsored by Safeway Stores hosted at Cricket Pavilion in west Phoenix last year.

The donations will support the Water Watchers drowning prevention program at Phoenix Children’s Hospital and the United Fire Fighters Association’s Adopt-A-Fence program.
