Councilman Greg Stanton was recently honored by the Arizona Community Action Association (ACAA) as a recipient of the President’s Award, the ACAA’s highest recognition, which honors individuals for their commitment to fight poverty and homelessness in the state.
“Councilman Stanton has provided incredible leadership in our quest for equitable funding for all social service agencies in Arizona,” said Cynthia Zwick, executive director. “He has made a personal commitment to educating himself and others about fair share issues and the population we serve. His personal commitment is reflected in his actions and he is an inspiration for others trying to make a difference in the lives of those impacted by poverty.”
ACAA is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) statewide association that brings together public officials, low-income residents, private sector representatives and human service providers to develop strategies which address poverty problems that are statewide and local in nature.
