The public is invited to join Councilwoman Peggy Neely and the Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department to celebrate the grand opening of Dove Valley Park from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 2. Dove Valley Park is located at 4740 E. Rancho Paloma Drive (east of Cave Creek Road, north of Lone Mountain Road).

Along with the traditional ribbon cutting and speeches, families will enjoy carnival games, face painting, information booths and refreshments. Parking will be available at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 32648 N. Cave Creek Rd. and a free shuttle will transport guests to the grand opening event.

The 4.73-acre park includes a playground, open turf with a natural pathway, basketball court, ramada and a small parking lot. This $880,000 project was funded by Desert View impact fees. Impact fees are assessed to builders and developers to pay their proportionate share of capital facilities needed to serve their development projects.
