Phoenix residents can learn how to recruit and engage volunteers for neighborhood projects during a free workshop from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, at the Sunnyslope Community Center, 802 E. Vogel Ave.
The workshop, "Volunteer Project Management," is one of a series of seminars sponsored by the city of Phoenix Neighborhood Services Department that focuses on neighborhood improvement.
The class will examine volunteer recruitment techniques and how to create and execute a successful community project. Free neighborhood resources also will be covered.
Future workshops include how to create a neighborhood newsletter; understanding landlord/tenant rights; reducing blight; and avoiding neighborhood preservation ordinance violations.
