Phoenix City Councilman Greg Stanton along with Tempe City Councilmembers Shana Ellis and Onnie Shekerjian will hand out 300 reusable grocery shopping bags from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 26, at three local grocery stores:
The cities have formed a regional partnership focused on recycling and sustainable practices. In addition to distributing free reusable shopping bags, they are encouraging residents to utilize the Bag Central Station recycling bins in their local grocery stores. Bag Central Station bins are located near the entrances of any Bashas’/Food City/AJ's, Fry’s, Fry’s Mercado, Safeway, Albertsons, Phoenix Ranch Markets, Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Sprouts, and Sunflower Market in Phoenix and Tempe.
