Cooling off will get a lot easier in late May when the city of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department opens its 29 pools for the season. Pools will be open for Memorial Day weekend, May 24 - 26 from noon to 8 p.m. Pools will then reopen for seven-day-a-week operation on Saturday May 31 through Sunday Aug. 3. A season pass is $15 for youth, $25 for adults and $60 for a family of four ($5 for each additional youth).
City of Phoenix pools also are the place for affordable swim instruction.
