City of Phoenix Pools Open May 24, Swim Class Registration Begins May 3

Cooling off will get a lot easier in late May when the city of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department opens its 29 pools for the season. Pools will be open for Memorial Day weekend, May 24 - 26 from noon to 8 p.m. Pools will then reopen for seven-day-a-week operation on Saturday May 31 through Sunday Aug. 3. Daily hours are noon to 8 p.m. Daily admission is 50 cents for youths age 17 and under and $2 for adults. A season pass is $15 for youth, $25 for adults and $60 for a family of four ($5 for each additional youth).

City of Phoenix pools also are the place for affordable swim instruction. City pools offer all levels of instruction so parents can always find a class that’s a perfect fit for their children’s skills. Registration for swim lessons begins at 10:30 a.m. May 3. Registration is just a few mouse clicks away in the Pools link of the Parks and Recreation Department Web site at phoenix.gov/parks. Participants also can register in person at any department community center. Swim lessons will cost $12 per class. Participants also can check out the Classes and Programs link to find full schedules and register for every summer class and program the department offers.

For general pool or swim lesson information, residents can call 602-602-534-6587or visit the Pools link on the Parks and Recreation Department Web page at phoenix.gov/parks.
