The Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department’s award-winning free People’s Pops Concert Series will present “Night in the Tropics” at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 4. Music lovers won’t want to miss the last concert of the 2007-2008 season at spectacular Symphony Hall, 225 E. Adams St. in downtown Phoenix.
This exciting concert will feature the Phoenix Symphony under the direction of Resident Conductor Lawrence Goland. The Arizona State University’s Pan Devils Steel Band will make a guest appearance. As an added attraction CityJazz Youth Big Band will perform in the Symphony Hall lobby before the concert from 1 to 2:45 p.m.
The People’s Pops Concert Series is sponsored and arranged by the Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department’s Phoenix Center for the Arts. Free tickets are available at all Phoenix Public Libraries eight days before the concert. There is a limit of four tickets per person. Organizations can obtain 20 to 50 tickets by calling the Phoenix Center for the Arts at 602-262-4627.
