Children, parents and community leaders in south Phoenix took to the streets today and walked to school to recognize “It's Good for Your Heart—Walk to School Day” highlighting pedestrian safety, healthier habits and cleaner air.
Students at Sierra Vista Elementary School walked with community leaders, including South Phoenix Healthy Kids Coalition and Arizona Department of Health Services as well as Phoenix firefighters and police officers to highlight pedestrian safety. The walk was capped off by a school assembly featuring school officials and school safety awards.
