If you would like to learn more about the state legislative process and how it affects neighborhoods, plan to attend the Southwest Phoenix Neighborhood Legislative Workshop from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 13, at the Cesar Chavez Library, Meeting Room, 3635 W. Baseline Road.
The workshop will present an overview of the state legislative process and how to become involved in decisions being made at the state Legislature, tips on effective lobbying techniques and how to use technology to track legislation. In addition, guest state lawmakers have been invited to attend to offer advice on how to effectively communicate with your legislator and how the decisions they make impact your neighborhood.
The free event is sponsored by the city of Phoenix Intergovernmental Programs Office to help demystify the lobbying process and encourage public involvement from neighborhood groups and residents in the creation of public policy.
To register for the March workshop, visit phoenix.gov/intergov or call 602-256-4257. Light refreshments will be served.
