New Board Members Join Phoenix Industrial Development Authority

The Phoenix Industrial Development Authority (PIDA) welcomes new board members Rita Carrillo, Lydia A. Lee and Marian Yim who were appointed by the Mayor and City Council for a six-year term.

Carillo was most recently the executive director of Neighborhood Housing Services of Phoenix, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the revitalization of central city neighborhoods through the development of home ownership opportunities. She is a former director of the Department of Commerce for the State of Arizona and has worked at all levels of state and local government. Carrillo is bilingual and active in many community organizations. She is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Nordstrom Bank, Neighborhood Housing Services of America and Seedco Financial Services, a community development corporation based in New York City.

Lee is vice president and regional manager of national community relations for JPMorgan Chase’s western district operations where she leads a community relations staff of 10 that oversees all corporate giving, community development and community involvement on behalf of the firm. Lee’s community involvement includes several board memberships and civic appointments. She currently serves on the board of directors for Arizona Community Foundation’s Arizona Early Education Fund, Local Support Initiatives Corporation (LISC), Maricopa County Community Colleges Foundation and Valle del Sol. She also is a graduate of Valley Leadership’s Class XXIV.

Yim is a seasoned attorney with more than 20 years of public law experience. She has worked as an assistant state attorney general, a staff attorney for the Arizona Supreme Court, counsel to the city of Phoenix Mayor’s office, as an adjunct professor for the College of Law at Arizona State University and most recently served on the Arizona Board of Executive Clemency. Additionally, Yim is involved in the Asian community, serving on committees that promote diversity and equal opportunity in the legal field.

PIDA was established as an Arizona nonprofit corporation and political subdivision in 1981 by the city of Phoenix under the Industrial Development Financing Act and provides financial assistance for affordable housing and community and economic development within the city of Phoenix.

PIDA is governed by a nine-member board of directors, appointed by the Phoenix Mayor and City Council for a six-year term. The current board of directors are Mernoy E. Harrison, Jr., president; Donald P. Keuth., vice president; Karl Gentles, secretary; Tom Espinoza, treasurer; Margie O’Campo de Castillo, assistant secretary; Andrew Loubert, director; Lydia A. Lee, director; Rita Carrillo, director; and Marian Yim, director. Marissa Treviņo serves as the executive director of the board and oversees all board activities.
