Shemer Art Center & Museum Presents Needlework Show

The Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department’s Shemer Art Center & Museum will host the 22nd Biennial Phoenix Needlework Show along with an exhibit from award winning fiber artist Denise Currier Feb. 26 through March 21.

The Needlework Show, a juried exhibition, will feature the best work created with needle and thread in the state.

The work of Denise Currier also will be on display. She combines fabric and thread with ink, paint, watercolor and photographic processes to create her unique visions of life in the Southwest.

The public is invited to attend a reception from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 26 or from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 1. Exhibits can be viewed 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays.

The city of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department operates the Shemer Art Center & Museum, located at 5005 E. Camelback Rd., and co-sponsors this event with the Shemer Art Center & Museum Association (SACAMA), its non-profit board. For additional information visit phoenix.gov/shemer or call 602-262-4727.
