Sun West Bottlers Donates 24,000 Bottles of Water to Phoenix Heat Relief Efforts

Sun West Bottlers recently donated 24,000 bottles of water to the city of Phoenix for its heat relief efforts. The company issued a challenge to other local bottlers to step up to Mayor Phil Gordon’s call for donations of more than 200,000 bottles of water to help keep those who are homeless and in need of water hydrated during the hot summer months.

“As a local Phoenix-area business, we want to be involved in the community,” said Jim Poole, vice president of sales for Sun West Bottlers. “As a water bottler, we want to make sure that no one goes thirsty in our community.”

To date, more than 112,000 bottles of water have been donated and distributed to those in need. Companies and organizations that also have donated water include Baker Development LLC, Capitol Group Companies, Coca-Cola Enterprises, Express Scripts, Four Peaks Elementary School, Geiger Southwest, Safeway, Swift Transportation and Swizzle Inn.

“Homelessness is a very real issue in Phoenix, and the summer heat can be very dangerous.” said Councilman Greg Stanton, chairman of the Maricopa Association of Governments Continuum of Care Regional Committee on Homelessness. “With the generous support of Sun West Bottlers and other companies and organizations, we will keep hundreds of homeless and other vulnerable people hydrated this summer.”

Sun West Bottlers is a privately-owned bottled water manufacturer specializing in "custom" ultra purified water.
