Local residents are invited to a free Community Connection Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 15, at the Matthew Henson Park, between Eighth and Ninth avenues, and Tonto and Sherman streets. The event will educate the Central City South Community about the various city of Phoenix and community programs available to them.
Activities will include information provided by local agencies about their services including parenting, child care, nutrition, disability services, health care and employment and training. The event also will feature information on programs for seniors, youth and other family resources.
Free food, arts and crafts, musical entertainment and a kids zone will be offered at this fun event for the entire family.
The fair is hosted by the city of Phoenix Central Phoenix Family Services Center; Fire, Police, Neighborhood Services, and Parks and Recreation departments; Hope VI Community and Supportive Services Office; Phoenix Workforce Connection; McCormack Baron Ragan; and Phoenix Revitalization Corporation.
