The City of Phoenix Aviation Department’s Community Noise Reduction Program (CNRP) staff will be accompanying a very special guest, Santa Claus, to make a surprise appearance at Wilson School in Phoenix on Thursday, December 21. CNRP’s Residential Sound Mitigation Services (RSMS) has adopted seven classes; five classes in grades 4 through 8 and two Head Start classes to provide holiday cheer. Each of the approximately 21 students in the two Head Start classes will be receiving gifts and treats beginning at 9:30 a.m. The five classes in grades 4 through 8 will celebrate by having a school dance which will include a movie, food and drinks. The school is located at 415 North 30th Street in Phoenix.
This marks the 6th year that CNRP has teamed up with Santa Claus to help make children’s holiday wishes come true. The CNRP staff purchased a gift from each child’s wish list, wrapped it and will assist Santa in delivering gifts to the classrooms. The students enjoy cupcakes and other holiday treats while they open their gifts. Some students keep their gifts wrapped as they prefer to open them Christmas morning.
Wilson School is located in the heart of the community served by CNRP. The Community Noise Reduction Program provides voluntary residential sound mitigation and land acquisition/relocation services to residents impacted by aircraft noise based on Federal Aviation Administration noise contour standards. All services are provided at no cost to the residents.
