Phoenix, Arizona – Two public information workshops will be held in September as part of the master planning process for Phoenix Deer Valley and Phoenix Goodyear Airports. The City of Phoenix owns and operates the two airports. They provide general aviation relief to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, also owned and operated by the City of Phoenix.
The City recognizes that these airports need to be evaluated to ensure their ability to meet future needs and that the use of these airports is consistent with the local community’s goals and objectives. To evaluate the existing and future role of each airport and to provide direction and guidance regarding short-and long-term airport development, the City of Phoenix is in the process of preparing an Airport Master Plan for Phoenix Deer Valley and Phoenix Goodyear airports.
Phoenix Deer Valley Airport is home to more than 1,250 based aircraft and had more than 352,000 takeoffs and landings in 2004. A vital component of the city of Phoenix airport system, Phoenix Deer Valley is the 3rd busiest general aviation airport in the nation. Phoenix Goodyear Airport with over 100,000 operations and 200 based aircraft is ranked 110th busiest general aviation airport in the nation. A new terminal was built in 2000.
