The airport is adding well over 40 new shops and restaurants between now and 2007.

Shops coming to Terminal 4 in phase two of the redevelopment were recently approved by the Phoenix City Council. The following stores will open this fall in Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport’s busiest terminal:

Pueblo Spirit will be operated in conjunction with Arizona’s world-famous Heard Museum. Indigenous will feature the works of Arizona’s Native American tribes. Arizona history will also be reflected in the design of Prairie News and Gift Shop, inspired by the works of legendary architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Most of the shops chosen for phase two of the Terminal 4 redevelopment are either locally owned or have an Arizona connection. “Since Terminal 4 serves as a gateway to Arizona, our goal is to reflect the beauty and culture of our state in both the design of the terminal building and the shops and restaurants it offers,” said Phoenix Aviation Director David Krietor.

When the renovation is complete in 2007, Terminal 4 will have increased lighting, higher ceilings and new tile flooring, with architectural design elements which capture the flavor of Arizona. Terminal 4 handles about 75 percent of Sky Harbor's passenger traffic and is home to America West, Southwest, Aeromexico, British Airways, Hawaiian Airlines and WestJet. In 2004, more than 30 million passengers traveled through Terminal 4 at Sky Harbor.
