Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport to Launch Wireless Internet Service

Phoenix, Arizona – Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon will launch a major customer service amenity on Monday December 19. The Mayor and airport employees will push the button to power up wireless internet at Sky Harbor. Media are invited to the WiFi launch celebration December 19 at 11 a.m. at Terminal 3, level 2 near the escalators.

Wireless internet service will be provided free of charge to Sky Harbor visitors. It will be available on both sides of security, in retail areas and near the gates at the airport. If a passenger’s laptop computer or wireless electronic device is configured to operate in a wireless mode, it will automatically connect to the internet when powered up near the shops and gates at Sky Harbor.

"The new wireless internet service will allow travelers to sit in comfort as they log on to check their email or even look at the latest headlines from their home town," said Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon. "It's part of our on-going commitment to making Phoenix a great place not only to visit, but to do business."
