Phoenix Parks and Recreation will host the Phoenix Outdoor Recreation Festival celebrating National Public Lands Day Oct. 28 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. People of all ages are invited to this FREE event at South Mountain Park/Preserve Activity Complex, 10919 S. Central Ave. Oct. 28 also marks the monthly Silent Sunday event, which reserves the park's main roadways for non-motorized use.
Festival participants will be able to enjoy live animals up close; take a hike; scale an outdoor climbing wall; attend special demonstrations and workshops; and much more. Many of the displays and activities are geared toward children making this an exciting and educational family event.
The Phoenix Outdoor Recreation Festival will also include displays and demonstrations from over 50 outdoor recreation and public land agencies. This FREE event is open to the public. Food and beverages also will be on sale.
