The Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department offers adaptive recreation programs, services and facilities that make it easier for people with disabilities to stay active and have fun. We're also the lead agency behind the Phoenix-area Special Olympics competitions, which hundreds of athletes and volunteers enjoy each year.

What can you do as a volunteer in our adaptive recreation programs and facilities?

  • Assist with the annual Special Olympics competitions in Phoenix
  • Help with our Daring Adventures outdoor recreation programs
  • Adopt or help to maintain or improve Telephone Pioneers Park, one of the first barrier free parks in the nation.
  • Provide support for our Daring Adventures
