With close to 30,000 acres of mountain preserves, desert parks and habitat areas, Phoenix preserve system provides a unique volunteering opportunity. Volunteers* in city desert and mountain preserves each year help to:
- Build and maintain trails
- Remove invasive species
- Conduct outdoor programs
- Work as Park Stewards to regularly patrol and monitor assigned trail areas.
- Help to stage and conduct special events.
