Latino Institute Back to School and Health Fair – Free admission
The Latino Institute presents its eighth annual Back to School and Health Fair. Featuring free backpacks for the first 1000 children (grade school ages).
Over 40 informational tables covering back to school resources, recreation and lifestyle for families. Health checks and free immunizations. Entertainment, free light lunch and fun activities for all ages.
An ending plenary is designed to open up discussions for the surrounding neighborhood with panel members in specialty areas such as parks services, law, health, domestic violence, immigration issues, school issues, consumer products and much more.
New to the fair this year: A production of "A Boy Named Cesar" the life story of Cesar Chavez as a young boy. Written and produced/directed by James Garcia, local author/actor/director/news anchor. The production will take place in the main auditorium of North High School.
