The Desert Ridge Specific Plan was approved by City Council in July 1990. The Desert Ridge Specific Plan area includes approximately 5,700 acres located entirely within the city of Phoenix roughly between 64th and 32nd streets, Pinnacle Peak Road and the Central Arizona Project Canal. The Desert Ridge Specific Plan was prepared by Northeast Phoenix Partners in collaboration with the Arizona State Land Department and is the governing land use document for the Desert Ridge Community. It provides the underlying zoning controls for the Village Center and resort areas and establishes the future planning framework and subsequent zoning processes for the balance of the project. There have been a number of amendments to the plan since 1990. Current major amendments are listed below.
