Block Watch Program
Information Provided by the Police Department

2007 Block Watch Summit

The idea of the Summit began with the Phoenix Block Watch Advisory Board and Mayor Phil Gordon. The Mayor designed an action plan and planning team to bring Phoenix Block Watch organizations together an effort to "Bench Crime." The City of Phoenix Block Watch Summit celebrated its inaugural event in 2004.

The Mayor partnered with the Phoenix City Council, Phoenix Police Department and the Phoenix Block Watch Advisory Board to put together a day of training sessions, including a resource fair. Block Watchers are given an opportunity to learn and develop the skills necessary to play a proactive and productive role in mitigating crime in the community.

We look forward to continuing the partnerships with the many organizations and supporters.

Please fill out the registration form to confirm your attendance for the 2007 Block Watch Summit.

Purpose

A long standing partnership between the city and citizens. This is a program of neighbors looking out for each other. It is designed to enlist the active participation of citizens to reduce crime by reporting suspicious activity to police and improve the quality of life in their neighborhoods.
