According to the National Crime Prevention Council, More than 300 American children under the age of 14 die from accidental gun shot injuries every year.

Nevertheless, 1.6 million families with children admit to having a loaded and unlocked gun in the house, and half the remaining families report they store some or all weapons less safely than is desirable.
