Traffic Bureau
Information Provided by the Police Department

This bureau is responsible for routine traffic enforcement and accident investigations citywide. The bureau is also responsible for the Aggressive Driver Program, the Red Light Running Program, and other selective Traffic Enforcment enforcement programs. This bureau is most generally recognized as "traffic motors" who respond to the vast majority of traffic calls for service, investigate traffic collisions, and issue traffic citations. The bureau also provides primary support to patrol officers by attempting to investigate the majority of all traffic collisions so  patrol officers are free to engage in other Community Based Policing programs, such as, the Burglary Reduction Program. In 1999, the Traffic Complaint Hotline (534-SPEED) was established to provide a single location for reporting any traffic-related problem to the Traffic Bureau.
