NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING

LAVEEN VILLAGE PLANNING COMMITTEE

 

Pursuant to A.R.S. Section 38-431.02, notice is hereby given to the members of the LAVEEN VILLAGE PLANNING COMMITTEE, and to the general public, that the LAVEEN VILLAGE PLANNING COMMITTEE will hold a meeting open to the public on Monday, November 9, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. located at the Desert Meadows Elementary School Library, 6855 West Meadows Loop East, Laveen, Arizona.

 

Note:

§      Agenda items may be taken out of order.

§      Anyone wishing to address an item should complete a speaker card, in addition:

a.        Those wishing to address an item that may be voted on should signify their support or opposition on the speaker card.

b.        The speaker card should be submitted to the Village Planner prior to discussion of the item.

§      Due to the time required for the number of items, the following time limits are recommended so that the Committee may give all the items the same level of attention:

a.        Staff report and recommendation

b.        Applicant (15 minutes).

c.         Other interested parties (2 minutes).

d.        Applicant response (5 minutes).

e.        Staff comments

f.           Floor Closed: Committee motion, discussion and vote.

 

The agenda for the meeting is as follows:

 

1.	Call to order.
2.	Review and approval of the October 12, 2009 meeting minutes.
	INFORMATION ITEMS:
3.	Presentation and discussion regarding new Laveen School to be located at the northeast corner of 43rd Avenue and Olney Avenue, and plans for the future use of the existing Laveen School site at 51st Avenue and Dobbins Road.  Presentation by Dr. Bill Johnson, Associate Superintendent, Laveen School District.
	RECOMMENDATION ITEMS:
4.	GPA-CTYW-1-08: Presentation, discussion, and possible recommendation on a city-initiated change to the General Plan Street Classification Map. The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing for this case on December 9, 2009.
5.	Discussion and possible election of Officers for 2010 – Chair & Vice-Chair.
6.	Discussion and possible action regarding the 2010 meeting schedule of the Laveen Village Planning Committee.
7.	Discussion and update of 2009 village work program.
	a.	Rural Street Standards
	b.	New Business Development
	c.	Commercial Design Guidelines
8.	Committee member requests for information, follow-up or future agenda items (not for committee discussion or action).
9.	Public comments concerning items not on the agenda (not for committee discussion or action).
	NEXT REGULAR MEETING IS DECEMBER 14, 2009.
