There are more than 200 historic vessels in the collections of Pueblo Grande Museum.

Our goal is to prevent further damage to these vessels so that we can continue to preserve them.

The collections of Pueblo Grande Museum are held in trust for the people of the City of Phoenix. The Museum has taken many steps to care for and safeguard these objects:

* A new storage vault with climate control was provided as part of the 1988 Capital Improvements Program bond issue.


* The Museum Auxiliary has provided funds for a special storage cabinet for the Maricopa Pottery.


* A federally funded grant program paid for a general conservation assessment of the Museum facility and collections management procedures.

It’s time to take the next step. We need an expert! An experienced conservator can examine the collection, and make specific recommendations regarding care and treatment to fix problems and prevent further damage.

To help us with this project, consider "adopting" a pot. Your contribution will be earmarked to pay for an object conservator to examine a particular vessel.

*"First Aid" Level $25
       Adopt a small pot in good condition.

*"Primary Care" Level $40
       Adopt a small "problem" pot.

*"Outpatient" Level $55
       Adopt a slightly larger vessel with some damage.

*"ER" Level $75
       Adopt a vessel with moderate damage, or one by a known potter.

* "ICU" Level $100
       Adopt a complex vessel, or an object with extensive damage.
Your contribution will be acknowledged by a letter from the Museum and, if you wish, you will receive a color photograph of the vessel you have adopted. Unless you prefer to remain anonymous, your name will appear on the "Adopt a Pot Sponsor Roll" in the Museum exhibit. After the fundraising effort is completed, you will be kept informed of the project’s progress. If you would like to contribute, print this form and send to the address below:
