Preservation Mandate

Pueblo Grande Museum holds its collections in trust for the people of the City of Phoenix. The Museum staff is responsible for preserving the physical and scientific integrity of the artifact and record collections, so that they may be used to fulfill the Museum’s Mission. The Collections Staff is entrusted with the daily care of the collections. To fulfill this obligation, the Collections Staff is responsible for keeping current on preservation information and techniques, and identifying and addressing training needs. Collections Staff is also responsible for communicating with the rest of the staff and the public regarding the importance of preservation and preservation issues.
