Aguila Golf Course #15, Par 5, 534 yard
#15, Par 5, 534 yard

Aguila Golf Course is the latest addition to Phoenix's roster of municipal golf courses. Designed by golf course architect Gary Panks, the $6.5 million, 210-acre facility features an 18-Hole Championship Course and a 9 hole Par 3 Course. Both offer challenging layout and design. Aguila, surrounded by scenic mountain views and Phoenix's downtown skyline, welcomes all levels of golfers from beginners to expert (scratch) golfers. Aguila Golf Course is the former site of the Alvord family farm. Its name is Spanish for "Eagle." The Aguila logo adopts an ancient Aztec design of an eagle. Both courses are flanked by numerous bunkers and holes, with transition areas of native grasses and wild flowers. The 18-Hole Championship Course features three lakes coming into play on five holes, continuous cart paths and four sets of tees. The Par Three Course includes two teeing areas per hole, driving range and practice greens. Aguila Golf Course is operated one half-hour before dawn until one half-hour after dusk, including holidays, year round.
