Citizen's Golf Advisory Council

Call for new members

The Citizens Golf Advisory Council (CGAC) was established in 1984 by the Parks and Recreation Department. The purpose of the council is to provide a forum for citizens interested in the operation and preservation of Phoenix Municipal Golf Courses to communicate with the Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department staff and the Phoenix Parks Board with regard to golf course operations, use, maintenance, marketing, funding, and planning.

The council is a volunteer citizen body that serves without pay and is appointed by the Phoenix Parks Board based on recommendations of staff. Members serve a three-year term and are eligible to serve two consecutive terms.


Below are the qualifications for membership:

  • Plays golf and has an interest in and knowledge of Phoenix Municipal Golf Courses.
  • Is dedicated to the advancement and betterment of the Phoenix Municipal Golf Courses and in support of the Golf Division.
  • Is able to regularly attend meetings.
  • Is willing to consider and discuss the opinions of other council members.

The CGAC meets on the third Wednesday of the month, at the Sports & Turf Division office, 3333 N. 7th Ave. The meetings are open to the public. The meeting agenda is posted on the city's public meeting website 24 hours prior to each meeting.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the CGAC, please send a letter of interest to Mr. Rob Harman, Deputy Director, City of Phoenix, Parks and Recreation Department, 3333 N. 7th Ave., Phoenix, Arizona 85013. Please state your qualifications for membership, and any experiences or skills you feel would be helpful to the council regarding operation and preservation of the Phoenix Municipal Golf Courses.
