Street Transportation Department AutoCAD Standards

Starting July 1, 2005 all consulting firms preparing plans for the City of Phoenix Street Transportation Department will be required to prepare their plans using AutoCAD and the following Street Transportation Department AutoCAD standards. Currently, all AutoCAD files for Street Transportation Department use or review shall be prepared or saved as AutoCAD 2000 "dwg" files.

The Street Transportation Department has created templates (provided below) to be used for all Street Transportation Department submittals.

The AutoCAD layering standards were based on the American Institute of Architects national standards.

The following document, in Adobe Acrobat (PDF) format, provides basic information on our standards and conventions:

• Summary of standards, electronic file naming, approved layer list (127 KB) (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader)

The following files are Street Transportation Department AutoCAD templates in "dwg" format. These templates and standards shall be used by all consultants preparing plans for the Street Transportation Department. A minimum of AutoCAD 2000 must be installed in order to successfully use these files.

• Cover sheet, Legend & Notes, Key Map, etc.



• Paving Plan & Profile sheets, Street lights and Traffic signal sheets



• Storm Drain sheets



• Water line and Sanitary sewer sheets



• Landscaping sheets

The following files (to be used with Autodesk's Batch Standards checker) are in AutoCAD "dws" & "chx" format and shall be used by the consultant to ensure that all drawings conform with the standards.
