Girls Softball at Rose Mofford Sports Complex
Youth Fast Pitch Softball Leagues
The city of Phoenix offers girls fast pitch softball leagues and tournaments. Age groups are 10 and under; 12 and under; 14 and under; 16 and under; and 18 and under. Doubleheader leagues are offered in the spring, fall and summer.
Three tournaments are also offered each year. The Spring Fling (first weekend in March), the Firecracker (last weekend in June) and the Winter Wind-Up (first weekend in December).2010 Spring Youth Fastpitch League Flyer

The Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to offer field-based youth sports programs for the spring 2010 season! The non-competitive, instructional program will be held at 6 sites across the city and offer a limited selection of team sports for 5 – 10 years olds. Funding to restore this portion of the programming comes from the Phoenix Parks and Preserve Initiative which was approved by the taxpayers in 2008. A percentage of the PPPI funding is identified for use in supporting youth programs.
VOLUNTEERS make this program possible. Please join us in providing a positive and fun-filled sports experience for our children. Each team needs a Coach to conduct practices and direct players during scrimmage games. Assistant Coaches and Team Parents provide valuable support teaching skills, monitoring players, organizing activities and much more. In accordance with city policy, all volunteers who provide direct service to children must be fingerprinted and pass a background check.

Racquetball
Mountain View Community Center offers racquetball for participants 16 years of age and older. Leagues run for 12 weeks and cost $40 per person. For more information please call Mountain View Community Center at 602-534-2500.
Karate
Karate is offered at various community centers throughout Phoenix for a variety of age groups. For a full list of karates classes check out our online registration page.

The Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to offer Adult Softball Leagues at our three Sports Complexes, Desert West, Papago and Rose Mofford.
Beginning in Fall 2010, league play will be conducted two seasons per year:
FALL – August through December
Spring 2010 Adult Softball League Flier
New teams who did not play in the previous season will be required to complete an Adult Softball Team Classification Form. Classification Forms are due in advance of General Registration by the established deadline. (Print off the form, fill it out and return by fax, mail, or drop it off at the address/location on the form.)
General League registrations are conducted on-line through PRO (Parks and Recreation Online) and are conducted on specified dates in the month preceding league play:
- Fall Registration – late July
- Spring Registration – early January

League Format - Double-round-robin league play with a post season double-elimination tournament. These 9 team leagues play a double-header schedule. There are four game times per night with no new inning started after 55 minutes of accelerated play (each batter starts with a one and one count).

League Fees - The team entry fees provide for direct recovery of costs associated with umpires, softballs, awards and field usage, along with a surcharge which helps offset some of the city’s costs of operating the program. Current entry fee is $585.00 per team.
LEAGUE RULES:
Rules not covered within the Citywide Softball Adult Softball Rules will be found in the current ASA rule book. It is the team manager’s responsibility to know and understand ASA and City League Rules, and to inform team members of rules and league requirements.
NOTE: Citywide Softball Rules were revised January 2010 based on recommendations from the Adult Softball Advisory Board and staff recommendations. NEW rules are denoted in blue..

The city of Phoenix offers a wide range of tennis programs at community centers and local parks. These programs include leagues and lessons for both youth and adult. Lessons are provided for all skill levels from beginning to advanced. Cost differs at each location depending on the length of the lessons offered. Phoenix Municipal Stadium is proud to be a host site for Major League Baseball's annual Fall League for minor league players. The Phoenix Devil Dogs kick off play at Muni each Oct. Over the years, the Fall League has been a proving ground for many successful Major League players.
