Implementation of
the City of Phoenix Water Servics Department
Design Standards Manual for
Water and Wastewater Systems

For the last several years, the City of Phoenix has undertaken the task of revising its design standards manual for water and wastewater systems. After much effort and input from City of Phoenix staff, the Development Advisory Board, the Home Builder’s Association, the design engineering community, and various other groups, the revised new Design Standards Manual for Water and Wastewater Systems has been finalized.

As of August 1, 2004 , the new standards will be officially adopted for any new projects in the City of Phoenix . The new Design Standards Manual for Water and Wastewater Systems is available in the Design Standards section of the Phoenix Water Services website.

Until the standards are implemented on August 1, 2004 , we realize projects continue to be submitted to the City for review. So, in order to determine a point at which to require a project to follow the new standards manual, the following criteria have been set:
