The plaza creates the effect of agricultural fields with raised planters, desert plants and a dry river wash. An 8-foot high bronze statue of Cesar Chavez stands in the center. Four bronze plaques depicting different aspects of Chavez’s life as leader of the United Farm Workers are placed on walls at each of the four sides of the plaza.
