Grant Requests

Amount of request: Applicants may request 50 percent of the total project cost. Project costs may include artists' fees, supplies and other expenses such as student transportation.

Matching funds: All Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture grants must be matched at least dollar-for-dollar by the applicant. For example, if your project has a total budget of $1,000, you will need to raise $500 to match a grant of $500. Funds do not need to be in hand at the time of application, but you will need to provide specific information as to where the matching funds will come from in your grant request.

Partial funding: Due to limited funds, partial funding may be awarded to grant requests. In the event that a project is partially funded, the applicant must either raise the balance of project costs or reduce the project scope to accommodate the reduced funding level. A revised project narrative and budget must be submitted and approved before the grant funds will be released.

Project dates: Funded activities must occur between July 1, 2008 and June 30, 2009.
