On Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, the City of Phoenix will hold the regularly scheduled Council Election for voters in Council Districts 2, 4, 6 and 8 to elect a council member. There is no election in Council Districts 1, 3, 5, or 7 this year because the terms of the council members are staggered and there is no election for mayor or ballot propositions.
During the week of July 22, 2013, the City Clerk Department will mail a Sample Ballot Pamphlet to each residence in Districts 2, 4, 6 and 8 at which a registered voter resides. The pamphlet contains a sample ballot identifying the candidates for the City Council in Districts 2, 4, 6, and 8. The pamphlet also identifies the voting locations and includes information about voting, a list of early and accessible voting locations and a list of acceptable identification that can be used when voting at the polls.
Voters can subscribe to an electronic mailing list to obtain the Sample Ballot Pamphlet electronically. Voters who subscribe will receive an e-mail notification of the availability of the pamphlet for each city of Phoenix election.
This pamphlet is available in alternative formats, including Braille, large print, audio tape and compact disk (CD), upon request. To request an alternative format copy of this pamphlet, please call the City Clerk Department at 602-261-VOTE (8683), TTY 602-534-2737. Requests for alternative formats must be received by Friday, Aug. 2, 2013.
