Deputy City Manager Rick Naimark

Deputy City Manager Rick NaimarkDeputy City Manager Rick Naimark has worked for the City of Phoenix for 26 years.  Rick manages and oversees Public Works, the Convention Center, Planning & Development and Street Transportation.  He is also responsible for the Arts & Culture and Youth and Education Programs, development of the ASU Downtown Campus and the City’s Bioscience and Bio Technology Initiatives, including the Downtown Biomedical Campus.

Rick previously served as the Executive Assistant to the City Manager and the City Council and has worked in a variety of other management positions in the Budget Department and Neighborhood Services as well as Intergovernmental Programs Office and Mayor’s Office.

He has a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and an undergraduate degree in Public Policy degree from Stanford University.

Rick is active in the community, serving on various community boards including: Valley of the Sun United Way, Hospice of the Valley, Local Initiatives Support Corporation, Jewish Family and Children’s Services and the Arizona Science Center.  Rick also serves on the State of Arizona Judicial Performance Review Commission.

Rick and his wife Dana have two boys, Jared, 20 and Nathan, 17.
