Review Teams
Commercial Plan Review Teams
Teams consist of multi-disciplinary staff supervised by a team leader.
These teams review construction plans for compliance with building
codes, city ordinances and federal/state regulations. Site planning,
civil engineering, traffic engineering, fire prevention, electrical,
architectural, structural and plumbing/mechanical reviews are all
conducted by the team. Team leaders are the main point of contact
coordinating with developers throughout the review process, from plan
submittal to project completion.
Minor Commercial Teams
Teams provide development assistance at public counters for technical
requirements, explanations and direction on processes and issuance of
over-the-counter permits. Additionally, staff on these teams conduct plan
reviews for minor commercial projects and process abandonments, lot
divisions, comprehensive sign programs and dedications.
Site/Planned Community Development Teams
Teams review residential subdivisions and multi-family/condominium projects
for compliance with planned community development master plans. The teams
review projects for design review, landscaping, grading/drainage,
concrete/paving, street right-of-way improvements and water/sewer. They also
ensure appropriate zoning and land use for compliance with city regulations
such as the Sonoran Preserve edge treatment, citywide design guidelines
and planning overlays.
Residential Plan Review Team
This team reviews plans and issues permits for single-family homes, duplexes,
townhouses, additions, remodels, and other residential construction projects.
This team provides over-the-counter permits for minor residential construction
and offers specialized assistance for first-time and Spanish-speaking customers
at a designated counter.
