Councilman Stanton serves on three City Council subcommittees, one of which he chairs:
  • Parks, Education, Bio-Science and Sustainability Subcommittee, chair
    This Subcommittee reviews policies related to parks and recreation, Rio Salado, library services, education, ASU Downtown Campus, the Bio-Medical Campus including T-Gen and the development of the UA-ASU medical school, the delivery of human and senior services, the family advocacy center, environmental programs and initiatives to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and improve the environment.
  • Public Safety and Veterans Subcommittee, member
    This Subcommittee provides policy guidance on police and fire issues including recruiting and technological innovations to maximize the city’s public safety dollars and provide oversight of the city’s court system. Also, the Subcommittee will discuss issues affecting our returning veterans and recognizing the contributions of veterans from past conflicts.
  • Neighborhoods, Housing Historic Preservation and Arts and Culture Subcommittee, member
    This Subcommittee reviews policy issues related to neighborhoods, including special neighborhood initiatives, development of housing citywide, historic preservation, arts and culture.
